This was the oldest, operating trading post in the area. It was built in 1906 by Ted Smallwood, and it remained open until 1970! It is now a private museum, which has on display 98% of its original merchandise, some history on the store and of the area at the time, and some info on the legend of EJ Watson, the legendary real person who inspired the novels by Peter Mathesson. For those of you who like ghosts, there are two ghosts that haunt the property. Maybe it's Watson, or maybe it isn't?

Step into the Smallwood store and step back in time. The store, run by Ted Smallwood, served as an important trading post for many years. The infamous Edgar Watson was gunned down here in 1910.
