Beautiful beach, views on to the island of Scarp and great walks round the coast for fit walkers. A visitor centre offers toilets, showers and an indoor picnicking areas.
Drive out a narrow, single-track road and arrive at a glorious beach (with another over the back) Great views over to Scarp. Don't try and swim that straight though, its dangerous.
Wonderful beach and a great coastal walk to Ruba an Tighe and then back along the shores of Loch Crabhadail and overland to Hushinish
The beach at Hushinish (Hùisinis in Scottish Gaelic) is one of the best kept secrets on the islands. Accessed via a winding single track road which leaves the main north-south road near Tarbert (the drive is not for the faint-hearted!), Hushinish offers stunning white sands and spectacular views out into the Atlantic. Hushinish is also the starting point for several good walks along the coast which offer great views of the nearby island of Scarp. Worth the drive.
