The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

A geodesic dome luxuriously fitted out, is accompanied by a amenities hut, providing a charming kitchen and separate bathroom. The hut has an outdoor bath with view of Mt Taranaki. Mahoetahi Farm a 30 acres organic farm Greg & I have retired to. Te Awa cottage is modern, light and airy, high stud & 2 generous bedrooms with a comfortable Ikea Sofa bed in the lounge. Spacious dining inside & out. Kitchen/bathroom well equipped & clean. Like to share flowers & produce from the garden when available. We love people & sharing our local knowledge. Next door Te Maunga cottage sleeps 2-4. Come and explore Taranaki. Ask about early check in or latecheck when available.

Cosy by the Sea

We offer you a private, warm, small quiet space neatly contained on the ground floor of our family home. Our quiet street sits right above the ocean where you can hear the lapping waves of the Tasman sea from your private courtyard, and have unlimited views out to the horizon. You'll want a camera for the sunsets. The entrance to the room is separate from the entrance to our house, so one has complete privacy. We offer modern bicycles for guest use at the cost of $20 per day, per bike.

Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Our charming two-bedroom unit offers a serene escape, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring New Plymouth. Modern amenities and tasteful decor, create an ambiance of relaxation and rejuvenation. Please note this property is part of a two block unit and we offer the front unit as an Air BnB. Not an ideal set up for young families with children on the go - as there is no outdoor grass to play on and has a shared driveway.

A separate small building contains the toilet.
