Vallakot Farm Guesthouse is a small guesthouse, located in Northeast Iceland in the middle of the Diamond circle. It is situated in a green and peaceful valley called Reykjadalur and the village Laugar is only a few kilometers away with a restaurant, grocery shop, a swimming pool and other amenities. Vallakot Farm is both a farm and a guesthouse and a place that has been in the family for decades. We have three studio apartments built in 2017 and a cabin that we finished renovate in June 2023.

You will be able to enjoy a modern, comfortable, newly remodelled, cozy apartment close to the centre of the capital of the north of Iceland. There are endless possibilities to explore all that our amazing nature has to offer for example; whale watching, Blue Lagoon in Myvatnssveit, Godafoss and in the autumn and winter experience the crazy aurora borealis and you can even take a beer bath at Arskogssandur. In the winter Akureyri is a winter sport town with a fabulous ski mountain Hlidarfjall.

This modern classic cottage offers stunning views of the Fnjóskadalur. The cottage is 50m2, you will have a big terrace and field were you can recharge your energy. Relax in the hot tub with geothermal water and enjoy the nature, feeling the power of Fnjóska river streaming beside the cottage. The area has great hiking trails nearby. There are also waterfalls, active volcano and fishing spots a short distance away. Day trip to the Jökulsárgljúfur National Park, Dettifoss waterfall and Mývatn.

The apartment is located in a quiet and peace neighbourhood, within waking distance of museums, swimming pool, town center and the Akureyri botanical garden

Charming rural cabin for couples, outdoor shower

Registered number:- HG-00020047. The cabin is 15 m2 and is a hidden nugget in our garden overlooking the fjord opposite Akureyri. The cabin was completed in April 2020. There is a kitchenette with a kettle, microwave and fridge. The WC is separate inside with a hand basin. The cabin is private and there is a half wrap around deck to enjoy the evening views and midnight skies. There is an outside shower with hot water for a natural experience. All products in the cabin are fragrance-free.

The house is beautifully located in Hjalteyri. From the house there is a stunning view over the fiord, with both mountains and water in sight. The inside of the house is bright, because of the big windows and light colors inside. The house is located a 20 minutes drive from both Akureyri and Dalvík - two larger cities. Hope you will enjoy our cottage house and its surroundings. Hjalteyri offers a restaurant, art gallery and a public hot tub by the ocean.

This cozy little cottage is located in Fnjóskadalur only 15 minutes drive from Akureyri. The shortest way is through Vaðlaheiði tunnel. This is the perfect accommodation for people who want to relax in the calm, surrounded by stunning nature. It is also less than hour drive to many of the north eastern nature highlights like Myvatn, Dimmuborgir, Namaskarð, Goðafoss, Myvatn nature baths, Geosea geothermal sea baths and Forrest lagoon. The apartment is a part of the house complex at Sunnuhlíð, a farmland close to the town of Akureyri. The apartment is perfect for four adults, two couples or families traveling on their own. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of Eyjafjörður and Akureyri. Additional fee for more than two guests is  € 18 per guest, per night.
