Stavanger Cathedral is the best preserved medieval cathedral in Norway and well worth a visit. Romanesque style from about 1125, with later gothic additions.

Stavanger's St Svithun Cathedral is a beautiful building from 1125 that is the centre of the city's history. Its roof is styled with shipbuilding methods, its chandeliers crafted by Emmanuel Vigeland, brother to famous sculptor Gustav Vigeland.
