Lovely pub in the rural countryside village of Chittlehamholt. Good food indoor or outside. Great place to have drink after playing golf or tennis at High Bullen Hotel.
The Exeter in dates from the 16th century when it was built to serve travellers on the road from Barnstaple to Exeter. Most of the original architectural features have survived, including two real fires, one of which has a bread oven. There are not many places like the Exeter Inn left in England. We are lucky to have one of the few genuine village inns left. The food is, quite honestly, wonderful and the atmosphere is welcoming and like nothing you can find in the city.
