The Henry B. Plant Museum focuses on the hotel's role in the Spanish-American War. It is located in the south wing of Plant Hall on the University of Tampa's campus, at 401 West Kennedy Boulevard. Plant Hall was formerly known as the Tampa Bay Hotel, which was a 511-room resort hotel opened on February 5, 1891 by Henry B. Plant near the terminus of his rail line.

The Henry B. Plant Museum is housed in the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel, the Victorian railroad resort that defined the elegant frontier, now a National Historic Landmark on the grounds of The University of Tampa.
This museum tells the story of Henry B. Plant and his attempt to make Tampa a destination for wealthy travelers back in the 1890s. The iconic building is amazing and now part of the University of Tampa. The self guided tour is interesting and worth spending some time there.
