At 2,396m this is both the highest paved road in Bulgaria and the highest dam in the Balkan peninsula. Unless you drive 4x4, do not attempt going by car. Ask us and we can arrange transport for you. Accessible from mid June to mid October

The Kalin Dam is the highest dam both on the territory of Bulgaria and on the Balkan Peninsula, located at 2,394 m. above sea level, in the Rila mountain, among beautiful alpine nature and it an excellent place to spend a hot summer day in Bulgaria. It is close to Ivan Vazov Hut.
