Motovun is a popular tourist destination that today attracts hedonists from all over the world. Motovun is considered the centre of the northern part of Istria and is often referred to as the most famous and beautiful mediaeval town in Istria. Its natural beauties and attractive tourist offer draw a lot of attention, and it represents the perfect destination for holidays with family and friends. The town is dominated by Gothic and Romanesque architecture, which has remained preserved in its original form up to today. Motovun is a picturesque city located on top of a hill, famous for its movie festival (takes places every summer) and its truffles. It's a medieval fortress and a must-see place, and anyone visiting will love the city's streets, views and the local food. 👆

If you are in central Istria, you have to go here. Home of the Motovun Film Festival and birthplace of Mario Andretti, Formula 1 driver. It is a stunning hill top town with some of the most breathtaking views in the whole of Istria. Terraces of Olive groves and vineyards are all about and views of the Mirna River. Stop for a drink at the top of the hill, then walk the town walls all the way around and I promise you will take photograph after photograph – assuming you have a camera.
