A welcome retreat in central London, this Scandinavian designer bakery makes a beautiful rye bread. I stop here for a coffee and an open rye bread sandwich if I’m nearby, followed by one of their famous cinnamon buns. Pick up a copy of the excellent Nordic Bakery Cookbook while you’re there—it is full of recipes you actually want to bake and eat, especially in winter.

Great at anytime, the food is mainly Scandinavian, with to die for coffee and cinnamon rolls. If you like design then you will enjoy eating off the Italla china and the general vibe of this place.
