This magical play ground on the north end of the park has a sand pit, swings, merry-go-round, climbing walls and slides. It's also just a 10+ minute walk from the Overlook Nook.

I know, I know. It's just a park! But if you have kids it's a must-go, because it's practically across the street and it's brand new with a xylophone and all these climbing walls.

We walk to this park several times a week. Sand box, swings, xylophone, tennis courts, slide built into a hill, merry-go-round-thing. This is one of Portland's first "Harper's Playgrounds" An innovative design incorporating accessibility. Harper lived in the neighborhood and her parents said, We need a really great playground that is wheelchair accessible. They got funding from the Blazers and other local donors to make it happen. It is also pesticide and herbicide free.

This hidden gem is quietly tucked into the Arbor Lodge neighborhood of North Portland and is less than a 10-minute walk away. You'll find ample open space, meandering walking paths, beautiful trees, tennis courts and a baseball/soccer field. Arbor Lodge Park is also the home of Harper's Playground, an award-winning fully accessible playground for children of all abilities. The park is lovingly maintained in part by the Arbor Lodge Neighborhood Association as a pesticide-herbicide free park, one of only three in all or Portland.
