Phuket International Hospital (sometimes referred to by its Thai name 'Siriroj') specifically offers treatment to the needs of foreign tourists and foreign residents, treating thousands of patients each year. They have the enviable reputation of providing high quality and cost efficient hospital services, coupled with the warmth and caring nature that only true Thai hospitality can provide. They provide medical diagnosis, treatment and care of the injured, with a capacity of 150 beds and an 11-bed Intensive Care Unit and many specialist clinics as well as the latest medical technologies. The hospital has more than 50 full and part time physicians and provides a comprehensive range of specialized medical and surgical treatments including hyperbaric medicine for diving emergencies, dental services, plastic surgery, cardiology for the treatment of heart disease and heart attack, neurosurgery and Lasik eye surgery. Many of the clinics operate from about 8:30 to 20:00 but the Emergency Department (ED) operates 24-hours, seven days a week. Their in-patient accommodation ranges from shared wards to private rooms and VIP rooms. The hospital also features both outdoor and indoor parking facilities; the latter can hold up to 150 cars. Hi-speed Wi-fi internet access is available throughout the hospital at extra cost. Other facilities include a mini-mart, a franchise coffee shop (both are located on the same floor as out-patient section) and a restaurant located on the first floor of Building 2, serving Thai and international food. Founded by the late Dr Anuroj Thansiriroj together with his wife Dr Supranee, Phuket International Hospital opened its doors as the island’s first private hospital on Krabi Road around 30 years ago. At that time it was only a small 30-bed hospital with very limited facilities. About a decade later it moved to the current location and has been running under Phuket International Hospital Company Limited since.
