For a bit of that Route 66 nostalgia stop by this cool mural that includes a car coming out of the wall! While you are downtown there are several murals to see in the area.

If you’re here to see Route 66, this neat little spot is great for a quick photo op. There’s not much else to it besides that. If Joplin City Hall is open, walk across the street and down some ways to take a self-guided tour to see the Thomas Hart Benton murals. We have a wrap around canvas of one of them in our space. Benton’s work is stunning and is even part of the permanent collection of the MET and has been exhibited in MoMA in New York. Hackett Hot Wings is down the street if you’re looking for a drink or bite to eat as well.
