Prospect Hill Park has a beautiful skyline view of Boston. It is located on the west side of Waltham, near Route 128, and is accessible by public transportation. Owned and maintained by the City of Waltham, it is a 252 acre wooded park with protected vernal pools and dramatic topography containing two main summits. At 485 feet, the higher summit, Big Prospect, is the second highest point in the vicinity of Boston. The lower summit, which measures 435 feet, is known as Little Prospect. Both summits provide some of the best views of the Boston basin. The main entrance and parking area is located on the northern side of the property at 314 Totten Pond Road. The southern entrance is located off of Prospect Hill Road and is for foot traffic only. All picnic sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. To reserve a site for a special occasion, you must purchase a permit at the Recreation Department, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm
