Located directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Blowing Rock is Moses Cone Manor. This 13,000-square-foot mansion with 20 rooms was built in 1901 and former country home of the prosperous textile magnate, conservationist and philanthropist of the Gilded Age, Moses Cone. The 3,500-acre estate features 25 miles of carriage trails for walking, hiking, and horseback riding. It is now the home of the Parkway Craft Center, one of five shops of the Southern Highland Craft Guild that feature handmade crafts such as turned bowls, ceramic tableware, woven garments, and more. Admission is Free. Open year round, Milepost 294 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Visit Moses H Cone to check out a historic mansion and walk the gorgeous grounds! An old cemetery, a huge lake, walking trails, hiking trails, and a huge lookout tower you can go up! One of our favorite places!
