The center of downtown and a historical spot the NC State Capitol is a great spot to visit or just walk around and admire the historical figures and statues that surround it. They also have used it as a back drop for shows like "Homeland".

Like to get a taste of the NC State legislative history? Visit the North Carolina State Capitol on 1 E. Edenton St., Dowtown Raleigh & take memorable pictures on site the Legislative buildings. The North Carolina State Capitol is the former seat of the legislature of the U.S. state of North Carolina which housed all of the state's government until 1888. The Supreme Court and State Library moved into a separate building in 1888, and the General Assembly moved into the State Legislative Building in 1963. Many historic landmarks, with 1800s architectures, statues, & memorabilia spread over downtown Raleigh.
