The cellars in Gaia are essential for Port wine ageing. Here, you can find wooden vats that are almost the size of small houses, but the best is saved until the end, with the port wine tastings. By Amass. Cook.

On the other side of the river douro in Vila Nova de Gaia are several wine cellars of the port here are some that can make a guided tour and taste probably the best wine in the world. Graham's Graham's is an elegant and selective choice, ideal for anyone looking to get away from the crowds. The visit starts with a 10min video, followed by a very informative visit. One of the things I enjoy most about this visit is that we never have the feeling of being "rushed" to get out of there, so Graham's deserves a real highlight on this list of the best Port wine cellars! Croft A visit to the Croft Harbor wine cellars is a divine experience. Being from the less accessible cellars has fewer people, which provides the feeling of having an exclusive experience. In the first waiting period we are greeted with two Port wines, Croft Pink and a Ruby, then the guided tour itself. A 10 year old Tawny closes an informal and fun visit with a golden key. Accept my suggestion: accompany your tasting with Portuguese chocolates. It's a wonderful combination in a basement that definitely deserves to be on my list of the best Port wine cellars! Churchill's Churchill's, situated just below Graham's, was curiously founded by a member of this family, John Graham, in 1981. Being a young brand, it is betting on differentiation through its notoriously drier Port wines. This Port wine cellar is smaller than the others, conveying a sense of familiarity and warmth, ideal for those looking for a more intimate visit, which is the main reason why Churchill's is listed in the best wine cellars list of Porto. Churchill's also has a "VIP" room with a fabulous view of the Douro River, where you can organize lunches, dinners, or private events. Ferreira Port wine cellar built around the image of D. Antónia Ferreira, an odd woman in an industry dominated by men in the 19th century. The visit begins precisely in a small museum room with D. Antónia objects, followed by a detailed explanation of the different types of Port wine. Before the event, there is also another museum with photographs of grapes, and objects used in the production of wine, brandy and in the old cooperage of the company. The wine cellars of Porto da Ferreira have two spacious rooms for proofs, and also a very small room, all lined with Portuguese tiles, where I had the privilege of sampling 5 different Port wines (for D. Antónia, for those interested) . These are some examples of wineries but there are more and all with a lot of quality
