Route 66 Car Museum is a privately owned car collection that is located along the famed and historic Route 66. The collection has nearly 70 automobiles ranging from early brass era cars to vehicles used in cinema such as the Gotham Roadster. This collection is sure to have a vehicle for every museum goer's taste.

Springfield is the birthplace of Route 66. In 1926, correspondence was sent from Springfield's Colonial Hotel - now a parking lot 🥺 - that said 66 would be the number. We had our 10th annual festival in Aug of 2022! Thousands of people attend!

Route 66 went through Springfield, so there are relics of it everywhere. The little stone motel bungalows are my favorite. This museum is 15 miles from the cottage, but route 66 ran just south of us -- maybe 5 miles.
