Din Tai Fungboasts hundreds of restaurants across Asia and Europe., but this is no regular fast food chain – its Chinese cooking has won the franchise several Michelin stars, most recently in its branch in Taipei. Founded in the late 1950s by Yang Bingyi, who moved to Taiwan in the midst of the Chinese Civil War, the name derives from the premises he moved into in 1948.
