It's under $3 to use the MAX for a couple of hours. You can buy day passes to save money at Pioneer Courthouse Square downtown. This MAX line will take you to Clackamas Town Center, a huge mall, if you go south, or if you go north and change MAX lines you can get to Lloyd Center, the Convention Center, the Collosseum, downtown, or the airport.

The green line will take you to the Clackamas Town Center for shopping or connect with the red or blue line to the airport or Portland city center.
