This one won’t be on your average tourist map—it’s for serious temple lovers. It’s a relatively small one that houses Daikokuten, one of the seven lucky gods and the god of great darkness. Shake the mallet at the top of the stairs three times to be blessed with happiness and prosperity. Their large Daikokuten statue is usually sealed away, but is open to the public six times a year according to the Chinese sexagenary cycle. The statue has survived numerous fires so far, and is therefore considered blessed by locals with protection against fire.
