The Corran is the former home of local MP, Alexander McNeil and his wife Hester. Burned in the early 1970s, the stone ruins provide a picturesque backdrop for picnics, short walks, and adventures down the spiral staircase to the lakeshore! Depending on the season, you will also see many species of flowers, and can imagine the rose gardens of the McNeil family. If you are a strong swimmer with snorkel gear, you might look on a calm day for the shipwreck off-shore, nearby to the spiral staircase.

A really great hike, with a fun spiral staircase and historic ruins of a mansion. You can walk from Sunny Side Up, entering the hike down past the local marina.

The Corran Ruins are an incredible entry-level experience of the Bruce Trail and the history of the area. This is the former site of a mansion owned by a Federal Minister in the early 1900s. It offers an incredible walking tour of the ruins (unguided) and a view of Colpoy's Bay as part of the Bruce Trail.

The Corran was once a beautiful seventeen room stone mansion overlooking Colpoy's Bay constructed and owned by Hester and Alexander McNeil. The mansion was destroyed by a fire and later purchased by the Sauble Valley Conservation Authority in 1976. Crumbled stone walls surrounded by wildflowers and vegetation still remain making this a perfect place to hike, picnic and even swim if you venture down the spiral staircase to the waters of Georgian Bay below.
