The train from Exmouth to Exeter runs along the estuary and is known as the Avocet Line. It's very pretty.

If you want a scenic day out but don’t want to walk too far I’d recommend a trip on the Avocet Line - take a train from Exmouth round to Teignmouth or Paignton - up and down our beautiful estuary and then across the infamous Dawlish sea wall. Alternatively change at Exeter St David’s and head up to Barnstaple - see beautiful historic railway stations that changed lives and are part of our railway history.
