20 Kms from Alibaug on the Alibaug – Roha route near the Salav village is the beautiful 'Birla Mandir'. Ganesha is the main diety of the temple with ‘Riddhi and Siddhi’ on its either sides. There are small temples of ‘Radha-Krishna’, ‘Shiv-Parvati’ and ‘Suryadeva’ also in the Birla mandir. Aarti at Birla temple is at 9.00 am and 7.00 pm everyday.

Idols are carved out of white marble. There are five different sanctums and each idol is very beautiful. Well maintained temple with simple architecture but there is something that gives you feeling of satisfaction and solace. I wonder "what it is" that makes it different than the other temple in the vicinity. I still have not found any answer after visiting this temple thrice. People say this temple looks all the more beautiful in the evening. I didn't had the luck to visit this temple in the evening yet but surely I will find that special occasion soon. You are not allowed to carry any cameras and phones inside
