A lavishly renovated heritage building serving gastro-pub fare. Lots of warm dark wood. Check out the chandeliers on the top floor.

ALthough a 25-minute drive to Carbonear, the Stone Jug is a dress-to-impress kind of establishment. The Stone Jug offers gastro pub fare in warm and inviting digs. Complementing the lovingly restored premises is a Canadian menu emphasizing locally-sourced ingredients in dishes ranging from Lamb pizza to braised baby-back ribs. They have on-tap microbrews and a selection of wines. On weekends, local entertainment featuring live traditional music, makes for a fine social atmosphere.
