This place is off the beaten path. You have to see it to believe it. Check out their website then decide when you would like to go. Secrete passageways, etc.

The Bayerhof Museum is not very well known but a must see when visiting Pittsburgh. It is a Mansion that a man named Charlie Brown owned (not the cartoon character :) . He collected music boxes and they are throughout this amazing mansion along with secret passageways. You must make reservations in advance.

This is a hidden gem and truly unique experience. Private residence turned museum that houses rare musical instruments. My favorite rooms are the wine cellar with “stalagmites” and the amazing indoor pool with waterfall!

Unique. Weird. Whatever you want to call it, the Bayernof Museum is certainly an interesting place to visit. Occupying 19,000 square feet, the museum houses countless unique music boxes and musical instruments. Explore the museum by using secret passages and hidden doors and enjoy the stunning views of the Allegheny River from the south side of the museum, which is made of glass.
