Beautiful park for walking/hiking on a 1,000-acre landscaped estate around a large Elizabethan Rockefeller family mansion. Catch a sunset! Only 7mins driving distance.

This park is amazing. It has a couple of weeping beech trees that are just out of the Sleepy Hollow story.

This is a beautiful, free of charge, walk around a park that housed a Rockefeller family mansion. There's a small parking lot, or you can park on the side of the road. Follow the trail high above the Hudson, past the site of the mansion that burned down. When you come to a fork, you can either turn left for a shorter path down to the river, looping back, or keep going. Before you get to the end, you'll see a path heading down, along a woodland stream that leads you back down to the Hudson, joining the loop back. One of Dale and my favorite walks!

Rockwood Hall is located in the Rockefeller State Park Preserve along side of the Hudson River, the views of the River are magnificent. This is a local favorite to many who grew up in Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. Walking from the parking lot as soon as you reach the crest in the hill you be awestruck by the beauty and will find yourself on top of what us locals call "laughing hill" try running down it and you will see why! This is my favorite area of the preserve don"t miss it.
