Shepherd's Watch

Shepherds Watch is set in a lovely part of the country, within the Peak District's National Park. There's plenty to keep you busy with the Manifold Valley just a couple of miles away. This is great for bike riding as well as walking, with Thors cave halfway down the track. Dove Dale and its famous stepping stones is only a 10 minute drive away. And for the thrill seekers Alton Towers is only a 10 minute drive. We have some lovely country pubs within a few miles of Shepherds Watch.

The Highland Hut

Located in beautiful countryside, with its own private wood burning hot tub and fire pit, as well as four furry faced friends to keep you entertained, the Highland Hut cannot be beat when it comes to having a relaxing break. Honey bee, Coco, Arnold and Bertie are our gorgeous highland cattle that live in the field opposite the hut. (Don’t worry, there is a fence to keep them from joining you in the hot tub!) They really are incredible and will make your stay here one to remember.

The Shepherds Hut is nestled in our walled garden. It has all you need for a relaxing break including lovely views, wood burning stove, bathroom, mini kitchen and a comfy bed area. The clever design allows both a dining table with chairs or comfy seating to relax by the wood burner. Our biofuel hot tub can be hired for your stay. Meet our animals whilst wandering our fields or walk from the property in to Dimmingsdale & Alton village. We’re a 5 minute drive to Alton Towers.

It once belonged to the Swythamley Hall estate, where they grew fruit and vegetables for the people of the beautiful, impressive hall. A perfect tucked away escape located in the stunning Peak District. A traditional Shepherd's Hut set on the edge of a large open field with rolling views of the countryside. A very secluded spot, pure escapism! Quirky & unique perfect to unwind away from the bustle of daily life. The hut sleeps two in a double bed. All bedding and towels are provided. In order to not make the Shepherd's Hut too cramped we have a separate utilities hut just a few feet away.
