Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Down the road you will find Glenlord Beach Park, a beautiful Lake Michigan overlook. Around the corner, an award-winning bakery. In Stevensville with its variety of restaurants, beaches, and shops, Glenlord Cottage is also within easy reach of many SW Michigan attractions and is well placed for visits to wineries, golf courses, and downtown St. Joseph with its shops and festivals.

The Coach House is in an eclectic neighborhood on Lake Michigan. Grand Mere State Park is a year around beautiful place for hiking by small lakes and through beautiful sand dunes. A small beach is a 2 minute walk away. The family room and kitchen face Lake Michigan with lots of windows. The house has a queen bedroom, queen pullout in family room, and laundry. A gas FIRE PIT and a HOT TUB are located on the back patio directly on Lake Michigan with a spectacular view behind the main house.

Experience the beauty of country living this season! From spring planting in May to fresh strawberries in June; grape harvest in Sep and pumpkin picking in Oct, or simply admire the snow tipped vines in the endless acres surrounding the farmhouse! Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Nestled among the trees, it provides a quiet getaway from the chaos of life allowing you to recharge and renew. The main residence is approximately 400 feet from the cabin. The cabin is secluded and yet close to local attractions, restaurants, biking and nature trails. The Cabin has a total of 420 sq ft living space with 280 sq ft on the ground floor and a 140 sq ft bedroom loft.

You can eat, drink, fish, shop, and enjoy the beautiful scenery all at one spot. Silver beach/the pier is literally a short walk away!

The Shire

Nestled on five secluded, tree-lined acres, with a pond, waterfall, fire pit, tree swing, basketball court and walking trails, The Shire feels a million miles away from it all - but isn't! We are only minutes away from wineries, breweries, amazing beaches, restaurants and shopping. (Notre Dame is an easy 30 minute drive). Southwest Michigan is a beautiful place to live! We'd LOVE to share it with you.
