Apeka is one of my faorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. They offer an authentic Eastern Europian cuisine tht happens to be vegan. Within their first year of buisiness they were featured in Bon Appetit magazine in recognition of the amazing food they make. Don't forget to try a cocktail, they are some of the best in town, and hey, no trip to Pittsburgh is complete without eating at east ONE perogie!

Be prepaired to step back into the 1950's. This sushi/hibachi spot is awesome. Great food and always a really fun time. If you like cocktails, don't miss the dragon scorpian bowl. Sharable and strong, you'll be glad it's only a 20 minute walk home!

Not only is this a nice walk from the house, they make incredible Italian dishes, and open early for breakfast everyday as well as a full bar. You can't go wrong.

This local gem of a dive bar is cash only, and smoker friendly. You can still smoke in bars in Pittsburgh so prepare yourself! The have the best wings and juke box in town, ping pong, pool tables live music and surly bartenders.

This is a great date night spot! The cocktails are pricey and worth it! I also love the cocktails at the sister bar Tako.

Great Grappa selection and italian cocktails. The restaurant in the front of the building is my favorite Italian food in town, Piccolo Forno. Mom makes the pasta fresh every day ( no lie!) and you can't beat wood fired pizza.

Sightseeing
There are a few overlooks on the edge of the Mt. Washingon neighborhood. Go to any of them! You will get the best views of the city. There is also an incline you can ride on, which is an old trolly car system to get people up and down the steep hills.

The strip is a 20 minute walk or a 5 min drive from our place, and it has almost everything you could need. If you love to cook, the apartment is equipped and this area has all the specialty foods you could imagine, Italian, Polish, Latino, Greek and more! Don't leave without going to Penn Mac and getting your fill of cheese and home made Italian gravy ( which is pasta sauce to most of you).

PA has strange liquor laws,so you can only buy beer at a distributor, or to go from your local bar, (our neighborhood has 3). This distributor has a great selection and is super close!

THE POOL!!!! If you stay with us within the month's of June thru August, this is just a quick 15 minute walk from the house. The Recreation Center is also available for day use and has a gym and basketball court. There is also a skate bowl and ramps next tot he playground.
