Entertainment & Activities

Does it really need a description? If you’re a huge Disney fan, you’ve probably done your research. There are, however some major differences in Disney World compared to other parks. Spaceship Earth, Mission: SPACE, Test Track, Kilimanjaro Safaris, and the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train are all Disney World exclusive rides. Also, the castle at the heart of the park is Cinderella’s Castle, not Sleeping Beauty’s (Anaheim’s Disneyland).

A MUST for any Harry Potter fan (are there non-fans???). I suggest going to Diagon Alley to get your wand so you can wave it around all day casting spells as you peruse the park. The butterbeer was frothy, sweet, and everything I’ve imagined since reading with a flashlight under my bedsheets at night. There’s free lockers all around the park for you to stash belongings too which is great because they don’t allow purses or bags on any of the rides. Tip: You have to have a two-park pass to ride The Hogwarts Express! It takes you from one park to the other, so they won’t let you on if you only have a ticket to one park.

Drinks & Nightlife

Wall St. Plaza is definitely a go-to if you want to party in Downtown Orlando with the locals. On Friday and Saturday night, they close off the streets for a few blocks and the entire strip is bars (and rooftop bars!), restaurants, and nightclubs. It ranges from live music, to karaoke, Irish pubs, Cantinas and Top 40 night clubs on the rooftops. This is definitely a must if you want to have an adult night away from the kids or want to meet some of the locals.

Food Scene

This is my absolute favorite brunch place in Orlando! It used to be in a much smaller location and there were lines out the door every single day- The bigger location allows for shorter wait times and it’s still very cozy inside! I’m an eggs benedict person but I’ve had the pleasure of trying so much on the menu and everything is phenomenal especially the housemade baked goods! Homemade swiss rolls, scones, moon pies…. Wash them down with their iced coffee. So good!

This is the first and last place I’ll ever have gator! I tried it here first and it really set the bar for me to be disappointed everywhere else. Get the gator bites! The oysters are fresh and I was slightly scared when price listed as “at market value” but a dozen came out to about $15 which is a steal if you compare it to other seafood spots. The owner/operator mans the bar area and frequently touches base with customers and is super charming. Oh and the beignets! So hot and fresh! I could eat 20 of them!

I love Seito Sushi because not only are the rolls creative and have wonderful flavor combinations, but the plating on every dish is so beautiful it makes each course super exciting. It’s hard not to put every dish on social media! I usually don’t order ramen at sushi restaurants, but my friend had it and it was the most beautiful ramen I’ve seen and had a taste to match! Their cocktail menu is also really creative so ask your server for a recommendation on the latest hit. This place is so clean and crisp with lots of seating, so it’s perfect for groups or family, but also trendy enough for date night.
