This historic place used to have gangsters who hung out in private quarters on the second floor. Step back in time in this really old school steakhouse with wooden booths, low lighting, an iconic long bar and great service. It's not cheap, yet it's a great night out.

This coffee shop 20 minutes west of Joplin is on the iconic Carthage Square by Route 66. It's worth it just to see the grand courthouse.

It doesn't look like much but has a drive-thru wildlife park with hundreds of animals including peacocks, camels, water buffalo, gazelle, kangaroos, oxen, wolves, buffalo, deer, caribou, birds, turtles, snakes and an alligator! It's worth the $8-14 per person!!!
