Since Fan Dian took over as curator in 2005 the museum has improved immensely and has some really great exhibitions coming through now. Check their site: www.namoc.org.

A good contemporary Chinese restaurant on the 5th floor rooftop of the Emperor Hotel. The restaurant has an enormous rooftop seating area with amazing views of the Forbidden City and the area around.

A good Beijing roast duck place with solid classic homestyle dishes. This location is a bit expensive (especially the beer), but in nice weather the outdoor tables right on the lake are worth it.
