The norwegian museum of fishery is located in our neighbourhood and offers a review of a very important part of the history of Bergen and Norway. Fish has been and is a cornerstone in our economy, and the rich ocean has been a blessing for survival in our harsh and rural country. The trade of fish was the starting point for Bergens growth and prosperity, and a visit to the museum will give you a piece of this story! The museum has lots of activities for both children and adults. After your visit to the museum you should of course enjoy a small fjord cruise with the Beffen boat that takes you from Skuteviken to the fish market in the center of Bergen (takes about 20 minutes by boat).

This trip will take about 2-3 hours, depending on how long you want to hang around at Fløyen.

The old wooden houses in the streets in the Stølen area are iconic and well known. We would recommend a walk from our place, through the Stølen area and onwards to Bryggen and the center of Bergen. The walk is a wonderful experience if you take your time to look around you!
