I mean, there are so many places in Portland to get an excellent latte, but I like Case Study because it's got a good vibrant hum without being too noisy, the space is very pleasant and friendly, you can watch Alberta Street walking by while you sip...and they'll make you an excellent latte.

This former elementary school has been converted into its own little wonderland of pubs, a movie theater, restaurant, music venue and hotel. There's even an outdoor soaking pool open to the public until 6pm - large enough for adults to soak and little ones to swim, warm enough to do it even when it's chilly out. Hint: Stop by one of the bars first for a cocktail or one of McMenamin's brews to take in the pool with you.
