The Heights Hike and Bike trail is one block from our home. Head south and you will find wonderful shops at 7th Street and White Oak Drive, or head north and you will run into 19th Street shopping area.

Tunnels? Yep. These tunnels run 95 blocks under the city connecting office towers to hotels, banks, corporate and government offices, restaurants, retail stores, and the Houston Theater District. Portions of the tunnel contain gift shops, newsstands, banks, technology centers, flower shops, copy centers, dry cleaners, and food courts similar to a major shopping mall. They are widely and heavily used by office workers and tourists. Only two buildings, Wells Fargo Plaza and McKinney Garage on Main, offer direct access from the street to the Tunnel but there are numerous stairs in office buildings that access the tunnel. Just ask!

Galveston is the home of much Texas lore. It is a port city with inhabitants as early as the 1500s. Now a tourist destination known for sightseeing, beach swimming, sailing, fishing and great seafood. The drive is about 45-55 minutes south of our home.
