Situated on the foot of the Ngong Hills, Karen Blixen Museum is the former African home of Danish author Karen Blixen, famous for her book (and subsequent film) Out of Africa . A visit to Karen Blixen is highly recommended to learn more about the history of Karen town.

Here you'll meet gorgeous baby elephant calves, sadly orphanned by poaching. A great opportunity to be close to these magnificent animals as they enjoy playing in the mud bath and having their mid-morning snack (milk). To enjoy the best view, and even touch the elephants, get there as early as you can - the Orphanage is open for one hour only each day (11am to 12noon).

The Nairobi National Park is only 30 minutes away - though now nearly surrounded by urban development, there's still enough wildlife to give you the safari experience. During a recent trip, we were graced by the company of two lions during their evening stroll. It's an experience not to be missed.
