If you like healthy vegetarian food and a warm, hippie-tinged environment, the Naam is great. 5 min walk from the house. Good food overall and cosy atmosphere. A Vancouver institution that is open 24hrs. It's popular though--watch out for line-ups on the weekend!

I love this place because of their organic menu and fabulous homemade pies. My favourite dinner is the Potato-Crusted Salmon. A bit pricey but great quality. Lots of vegetarian options.

Parks & Nature
As far as being right in the city goes, Jericho is beautiful and wild. A great place to walk and without the party atmosphere of Kits Beach. It is about a 25-30 minute walk west along 4th avenue. Definitely the place to be in July during the Vancouver Folk Music Festival.

Such a great place to walk to in minutes. Watch volleyball on the beach in the summer, bicycle along the waterfront all the way to Granville Island and Science World.
