In that time it was considered to be the largest temple in Greece. It is made from Pentelic marble and had originally 104 Corinthian style columns. In the Byzantine and Christian times parts of the temple were used as building material.
Today the visitors can still see a part of the temple and 15 of its columns that are still standing in their original position.
