Musea
The oldest museum is Teylers and it's (in my opinion) a must see. The building, the spot at the Spaarne river but especially the collection. I go there often to sit and see my favourite painting. But the also display so much (sientific) history. https://www.teylersmuseum.nl/nl
And also do visit (!) the Frans Hals Museum. https://www.franshalsmuseum.nl/nl/
Along with Van Gogh and Rembrandt a Dutch grandmaster in painting.
Last but not least: Dolhuys - Museum of the Mind. One of a kind in Europe. Unique and very relevant. Museum van de Geest in Haarlem just won the European Museum of the Year Award.

Besides beautiful musea there are some great old churches to visit: Bavo on the central Grote Markt, or the Basilic.
