Lake Saint Ann, at 78 km, is one of the most important and unique natural attractions in Transylvania, being the only lake in Central and Eastern Europe formed at the bottom of the crater of an extinct volcano. Locals say that it is very easy to predict the weather when you are near Saint Ann Lake. They say if it smells bad then this is a sign of storm, if there is no smell that means it will be sunny. The phenomenon has a scientific explanation: because the mountain is still experiencing some post-volcanic activity, it is sensitive to any change in the air pressure. When the pressure decreases, gases such as sulfur and carbon dioxide rise to the surface. Near this lake you can also see a second volcanic crater that turned itself into a swamp and now it is named Tinovul Mohos, a natural reservation with rare plants, some unique in Romania. It can only be visited with a guide providing explanations in several languages and can only be walked on marked trails and bridges made of wood. The prices for parking for the first 3 hours have a fixed rate. This price includes all services for visiting and maintaining the area. There are a lot of options to eat in the parking area from Fried things to Langos and Kurtos Kalacs. - CARS and MINIBUSES (up to 15 seats) the first 3 hours: 24.00 lei after which: 2.00 lei every 30 minutes started - MOTORCYCLES the first 3 hours: 12 lei after which: 1.00 lei every 30 minutes started
