Our neighborhood has lots of great restaurants with cuisine from the Horn of Africa. This Ethiopian restaurant is my favorite. As a bonus, it has it's own private parking lot.

Great pastries and warm drinks! It's a short walk, or street parking is generally pretty good.

A new ghost kitchen in North Oakland. My husband's current favorite sandwich is the “Not So Fried” Chicken from Mendocino Farms (order from Mendocino Farms website, not the Food Hall). Wok Momma is also quite tasty. If picking up, their official parking lot is the Baptist church across the street.

Great local conservation zoo. Includes a gondola ride with great views of the bay. Located in the Hills, so be prepared to walk. The Glowfari event is amazing and currently has openings in January.
