Eating there is a special experience. Walking into the Yellow Deli, we were immediately welcomed with smiles and accommodations. The vibes of the restaurant itself are great. Feels like Woodstock, but only 5 minutes from our durham house. It’s decorated to be cozy, calming, and whimsical. The menu is small, but there is something for everyone. Everything that we ate was delicious.
Please note that on Saturday’s they are closed for Shabbat, but they are open mon thru Thursday at 10 am. If you get there at 9:45 am you are likely to be the first or second in line waiting outside the door. If you arrive at 10:05 am you are likely to expect a 30 minute wait. They open Sunday’s at noon; Their busiest days so get there at 11:50 am and wait outside or else the parking lot fills up by 12:05 and of course another 30 minute wait to be seated.
We ordered the Egg and Cheese sandwich, the Deli Waffle, and the Reuben sandwich with a side of chips. There was a little bit of a wait for the food to come to us, but all our meals came out hot and ready to eat.
They offer a whole array of eclectic tea and desserts. The carrot cake was was not only served to me with a smile, but it was the biggest slice of cake I’ve seen in a long time. The cake was super soft, tasted great, and had the perfect amount of frosting on it. I’m not a big carrot cake person and felt awkward receiving it, but I ended up enjoying it.
The Yellow Deli is a a great place to eat. Kick back, relax, and enjoy the time you spend there. The staff is friendly, everything is clean, and the food is worth the wait.

Amazingly fun ambiance, and great food. Always a band, always a bonfire, outdoor dining and indoor. Such a big place never a long wait, service is not great but it makes up for it in food.

A French country bistro right in the heart of downtown Windham. We sat on the lovely terrace and enjoyed the fresh air and incredible food. Not embarrassed to admit that after tasting the homemade sorbet my son ordered, I had to order some for myself. The waitstaff were extremely attentive and kind. Has a children's' menu and for the grownups, there is a stocked bar.

Very delicious take-out (only) chinese restaurant in Windham. Best Chinese Food around! This place has a very loyal following. They pride themselves on always getting your order right.

There are two--one in Windham and one in Tannersville. Both worth the trip. Use lots of locally-produced ingredients, fresh and wonderful food. Plus there's fudge! The adorable shop has a Cracker Barrel Vibe, with games, toys, baked goods, candy and knick knacks of all kinds.

5510 NY-23There are two--one in Windham and one in Tannersville. Both worth the trip. Use lots of locally-produced ingredients, fresh and wonderful food. Plus there's fudge! The adorable shop has a Cracker Barrel Vibe, with games, toys, baked goods, candy and knick knacks of all kinds.
German/Swiss food. They offer different types of fondue too. We've only had the fondue specialties, but would definitely go back for it again! The apple strudel is delicious too.

Vesuvio in Hensonville is another delicious Italian and this one takes reservations! The meatballs are supposedly incredible!

Milk run is a five minute drive from the house. Also the only place that delivers to the house. It’s a to-go deli , convenience store too. Freshly sliced cold cuts, sandwiches, wraps, eggs and more! Outdoor seating. Also has a Gas station , market with the normal merchandise.

Way more than just a gas station market. This eat-in or take-out market has brick oven pizza, deli sandwiches, pastries and ice cream,. Super clean, plus you can pick up lots of other supplies while you're there.

The prices are very fair. Cordelia and her team bring service and hospitality to the next level. Friendly to new and experienced to wine and wine tasting. There’s also craft beer and ciders available for those who don’t fancy wine.
Overall a great experience- would recommend coming here to anyone!

Five Furlongs Tavern is not only the closest restaurant to the vacation house (8 minute drive), but in my opinion, the best cuisine in the area. The chef, San Diego, is a highly trained chef who, I think, can beat out any five-star restaurant in New York City, but with the atmosphere of a local tavern. Everything on the menu is great. Some of the highlights are the French onion soup, the char grilled teriyaki salmon with wasabi and the roasted, garlic potatoes puree.
