This is our favorite Japanese noodle house. Their udon is made fresh in front of you. If you snag a seat at the counter, you can watch the master noodle person create and cut each of the noodle batches. It’s a bit tight inside, but the wait is so worth it. All of their dishes are incredibly savory and always hit the spot.

This is our favorite sushi place, and it is in a cool area known as Japan Town. Our favorite thing is to get lunch there. There’s a sashimi lunch combo and sushi lunch combo that are incredible values for incredibly fresh fish. If you can’t make it for lunch, dinner at this place is also amazing.

This is one of the best special occasion restaurants in Los Angeles. You may have to mortgage your house to eat here, but it is so worth it. This is one of those places that has a water sommelier. Yup, for water. It is that bougie and worth every cent.

Located in the heart of Thai Town in Hollywood, this our favorite Thai place. It is always solid and is totally authentic. From noodle soup to vegetarian specialties like Ka Nom Pak Kard, this has something for everyone. Our usuals are the papaya salad, kanom, vegetarian fried noodle, and Tom Yum soup. Plus, it is around the corner from Barnsdall Park, where you can take food up and enjoy a picnic while taking in the view and Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House.

The BEST pastries ever. Once you enter, you’ll want to rub your body against all the gorgeous decadent desserts. They’re so luscious and beautiful. Have lunch there. Have coffee. Have anything and you will be very happy. They are known for their guava pastries and potato balls (with beef). But seriously, their sandwiches and coffee bring big guys to their knees. And the desserts will make you cry.
