The "district of the gods", Anafiotika part of Plaka, is undoubtedly the most picturesque place in Athens. Cobbled alleys and neoclassical houses compose a unique setting that enchants the visitor by traveling to other eras. Throughout the area there are taverns, taverns and cafes, souvenir shops and folk art items, museums, newer monuments and many churches, some real masterpieces of Byzantine and post-Byzantine architecture. Get lost in the alleys and drive to Anafiotika, the special island neighborhood created in the 19th century by the inhabitants of Anafi, famous craftsmen and builders, who worked on the construction of Otto's palace.
