the Museum of Natural Sciences is a must-see in Raleigh. I have taken my boys there for eleven years and they never tire of it. it is a full day adventure to include exhibits, activities, 3D movies and gift shops. there are two cafes on separate floors to satisfy hunger while enjoying the museum

The paved trail is about 3-miles in length around the lake, with hills to challenge your endurance. This is a great place for walking, jogging, biking, walking your dog, and picnics. There are paddle boats and canoe rentals as well as a room with a balcony view of the lake. There are also walking trails through the woods (that I prefer) that are off the beaten-path.
