IV10 is one of our favourite resturants around. The food is fantastic, the service friendly, the decor is cool and quirky and they have a great wine and gin menu.
They service lunch and dinner, a large menu with something for everyone and also a deli counter.

Fortrose cafe is a personal favourite of ours. We go most Saturdays for our lunch. The food is good, the service is friendly and they cater for gluten free, dairy free and vegan diets.
They have a back garden with outdoor seating and some toys for kids too. Perfect in a warm day.

Sightseeing
Clootie Well is fab. Don't be put of by the pictures. The woods has various loops around it, this is a perfect woods for kids of all ages. The loops can be as short or long as you like, if you have little one who cant always do the bigger walks.
Lots of trees and easy paths to follow. There is also a steam that you wlak past which is perfect for kids to have a splash. Local kids and parents oftem build Dens for kids to play in on their way round.
The clothes hanging from branches of one of the loops. This is a tradition that goes back centuries in Scotland, where there is said to be a healing well or spring, people would give an offering of clothing and tie it to the tree to reap the benefits of the offerings of healing for themselves or others

Munlochy Clootie Well
A832Clootie Well is fab. Don't be put of by the pictures. The woods has various loops around it, this is a perfect woods for kids of all ages. The loops can be as short or long as you like, if you have little one who cant always do the bigger walks.

The best spot to see our resident bottle nosed dolphins.
There is a small pay and display car park but it can get very busy during the windows the dolphins may appear.
There is a free shuttle bus from Fortrose and Rosemarkie to chanonry point during summer. You can also park in Fortrose and walk along the golf course or park at the beach in Rosemarkie and walk along. It may be too far for under 5's to walk.
In our experience we see the dolphins a lot, and it is often around 2-3 hours after high tide. But as they are wild animals it can be different. If you have the time and its a nice day take a picnic and just chill out at the point, it is usually buzzing with people and can be quite the socialbke outing. There are benches and picnic tables and you'll often find our local ice cream lady maureen down there in one of her vans. I recommend a real Scottish ice cream... Tablet or irn bru flavour 😉

Chanonry Point Holiday Cottage

Once you go round the coast is often quite with lots of rock pools and sand and amazing views. On a sunny day this is just picturesque.
And if you keep your eyes peeled you can sometimes spot the dolphins too.
Just make sure you check you tide times for walking round, however there is a grass path above the beach too.

My son who is 3 is able to walk the whole thing, to give an indication of age of being able to walk it all.
The woods are beautiful and the waterfalls are just so pretty and a nice stop to stop and relax.
There is a second waterfall higher up, which is our favourite as you can go in the water with your wellies on and kids cna have a wee splash.
There are fairy houses to look out for that locals put out.
Also try spot the tree trunks at both waterfalls. People over the years had put coins into the trees to make a wish.
