Green Spaces
I love Hagley Park. It has been a big part of my life ever since I was at school in Christchurch. We walked through Little Hagley to get to school, I ran around North Hagley to get fit and we played hockey in South Hagley when it was still a grass game!
To own a city pad with Hagley Park on the doorstep feels like I'm coming home - a massive green space in a vibrant city.

Adventures
As the mother of mountain bikers, I've spent plenty of time in the hills and the Christchurch Adventure Park is superb!
The most popular option is to buy a gondola pass onsite that takes you and your bike to the top of the Port Hills and the start of the off-road tracks. For the hardcore fitness fiends, you can bike up but I warn you, it's steep - and I should know, I've done it (once!)
The tracks are varied and clearly marked, so assuming you can ride a bike, there is something for everyone, even a cafe and bar!
Oh, and for the walkers, take the walking tracks to the top of the gondola and you can get a free ride back to the bottom!

While a trip to the mall is enough to make me cringe if I'm not in the right mindset, my 12-year old daughter LOVES Riccarton Mall. In fact, she's planning a city escape with her besties for her next birthday and top of the list is shopping right here!
Packed with plenty of high street stores, don't expect to find anything unique, but if it's a shopping fix you're after, this is your one-stop (big) shop.

Mere minutes from our front door and just over the road on Victoria Street, this store is full of swoon-worthy furniture and gorgeous homewares with lovely staff who know what they're talking about. I'm an interior designer. I recommend it.

What's not to love about Akaroa? Swimming with dolphins, mountain biking, surfing, cafes, boating, hill walks…it really does have it all.
Just 1.5 hours drive from Christchurch, it's the perfect day trip.

This wee pub has never let us down and the more we go, the more we love it!

Seriously, they're good!

They take the humble pot of porridge and turn it into something next level!
