The Municipality of Low is located in the heart of the Gatineau valley about 15 minutes north of Wakefield and barely 40 minutes from Ottawa-Gatineau.
Covering over 250 square kilometers, Low is bordered by the Gatineau River in the east, the municipality of La Pêche in the south, Alleyn & Cawood in the west and Kazabazua and Lac-Sainte Marie in the north.
The village of Low is the nucleus of the municipality and is located near the impressive Paugan Dam, which boasts incredible views of the Gatineau River north and south.
The Paugan Dam is a must see! The views are breathtaking.

Located on the northern edge of the Gatineau Park, one can cross-country ski or snowshoe over 200km of some of some of the finest trails in Eastern Ontario or Western Quebec in the winter, or hike or mountain bike those same Gatineau Park trails during Spring, Summer and Fall. Rent a canoe, kayak or Stand-up Paddleboard for the day and paddle the Gatineau River, or experience dogsledding, horseback riding or other guided adventures only a short drive from the village.

Truly a local favourite!
Established in 1901, the Brennan's Hill Hotel, formerly known as the Brennan’s Hill Beaver Lounge and Hotel, has been a local favorite for many years. In 1911 the hotel was purchased by Louis Monette, the first of many generations of Monettes to own “The Hill”. With this purchase, Louis established the hotel’s place in the history books of Brennan’s Hill, La Belle Provence, and the Monette family.
Originally a gentlemen-only club, The Brennan’s Hill Hotel was to become one of the bootlegging hubs of Western Quebec. Travelers arriving hot and thirsty at the local train station could hop a complimentary horse and carriage which would whisk them to relief at the hotel.
Fast forward 102 years through five generations of Monette owners to the Brennan’s Hill Hotel of today. Having just undergone a major renovation, The Hill offers a quaint and cozy atmosphere to lift a pint, enjoy one of our signature burgers, shoot a game of pool or darts, and relax in the company of friends. There’s always someone you know at The Hill.

Established in 1901, the Brennan's Hill Hotel, formerly known as the Brennan’s Hill Beaver Lounge and Hotel, has been a local favorite for many years. In 1911 the hotel was purchased by Louis Monette, the first of many generations of Monettes to own “The Hill”. With this purchase, Louis established the hotel’s place in the history books of Brennan’s Hill, La Belle Provence, and the Monette family.
