Chinese - HK Do not mix this up with its sister restaurant, Royal China just a few doors down (which you can ignore as the standard and quality of food has plummeted in the past year), RCC is a smallish restaurant that basically serves almost everything you can get in Royal China except with more finesse at a slightly higher price tag. Unlike RC, RCC is more specialised and focuses mainly on seafood. There is less queue here, however, please note that reservation is still necessary especially during lunch hours or on weekends.

Chinese - Famous for their roast duck Original branch in Queensway but as most successful restaurants are, they have branched out, there are 2 in Chinatown, go to the one on Gerard St. Quick meal, cheap, atmosphere is not great and the service is fast but not very refined. Don't be offended if they hand you the bill even when not requested! Do try the aromatic crispy duck or the roast duck on rice and the red bean pancake for dessert

Persian Just off Warwick Avenue, this is a top-notch place and prices are higher than usual. Go there if you want somewhere fancy, but expect to spend more money. The upside is the quality is good. Torsh means sour or acidic. Iranians love anything torsh ّ(people call me insane, but I used to drink a glass of abghoreh or verjuice – unripe grape juice – every day in Iran). Kabab torsh is chargrilled marinated breast end of lamb in pomegranate juice, crushed walnuts, young grapes and fresh mint served with saffron rice. Reservation is needed.

Persian Established in 1983, is one of London’s first and finest authentic Persian Restaurants. Their cuisine is a fusion of ancient Persian and Modern Iranian techniques – and they make a mean Gormeh Sabzi. Hafez sources only the best quality cuts of meat and the freshest herbs and vegetables. Their head chef, Farshid Ziafat, has been at the heart of the restaurant for 25 years; his passion for great food is the key to their longstanding reputation for quality and excellence.

Scandinavian Trendy cool but not overly loud scandinavian restaurant with friendly staff and menu in a form of newsprint, food is tasty, well presented and restaurant entrance is through a flower shop or through main entrance of Ace Hotel. It is open for breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon tea, aperififs, dinner, supper and nightcaps. Great food, great service. Chilled atmosphere with a good buzz about it.
